Penang Anime Matsuri

Penang Anime Matsuri is a festival featuring Japan pop culture such as cosplay, games, anime workshops, outdoor concert, anime merchandises and street food.
The organizer also invited international celebrity cosplayers from Malaysia, Taiwan, Philippines, South Korea and Hong Kong to appear in the event.
This year, the outdoor concert was the biggest anisong concert in Malaysia which featured popular anisong artistes from Japan.
Consulate-General of Japan in Penang distributed colorful yoyo balloons to the children while adults participated in the Japanese quiz to win some Japanese souvenirs. There were 100 guests who participated in our Yukata try-on sessions to experience the Japanese traditional summer wear.
We also conducted chopstick rubber band shooter workshop and children enjoyed making their own shooter. The crowd could also get free Niponica magazine at our booth.
