Pesta Kalimaran

Pesta Kalimaran is held annually on March 31 at the Murut Cultural Center, Tenom, Sabah, Malaysia. Previously, the Kalimaran Festival was held in several places and did not follow the Malaysian tourism calendar. Sabah Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Datuk Masidi Manjun requested that the Sabah Murut Association be more active so that foreign tourists can come here as per Malaysia’s tourism schedule. Foreign tourists are attracted to the various handicrafts, traditional food and traditional Murut dances found in Tenom. The Pesta Kalimaran 2008 was also attended by Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman and Kemabong State Assemblyman Datuk Rubin Balang. The Sabah Cultural Board has channeled an allocation of RM120,000 to increase tourism activities in Tenom. [1] Tourists can take a train to Pangi Railway Station for rapids before finishing at Rayoh Railway Station and return to Beaufort Railway Station.
