SUMMARY:IRON MAN Malaysia
DESCRIPTION:The Ironman Langkawi Malaysia is an annual triathlon that usually takes place in November. It is a gruelling race that starts out with a 2.4-mile swim\, followed by a 112-mile bicycle ride and a 26.2-mile marathon run. This triathlon is one of the world’s most recognized endurance events. \nIt began as a challenge for a group of American Navy Seals and was originally a combination of the Waikiki Rough Water swim\, the Around Oahu Bike Race and the Honolulu Marathon. Each year there are a series of 28 events all over the world that qualify athletes for the Ford Ironman World Championship held every October in Kona\, Hawaii. \n			 \n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				Ironman Langkawi Malaysia\nThough the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC)\, owners and operators of the Ironman\, did not host any Malaysian races in 2011\, this year it is expected that new partners and venues will result in an even more exciting event. Last year was the first time in 11 years that the world-famous event did not take place in Langkawi\, although the WTC is optimistic that this year will see its return to Langkawi’s shores. \nThe Langkawi leg of the event is tough\, not because of the course but the humid weather with temperatures reaching up to 43°C (or 110°C). The race starts out at Eagle Square (Dataran Lang) with a two-loop swim in Kuah Bay. Once out of the water\, participants run up a short jetty to grab bikes and head to the other side of the island before heading back. DESCRIPTION:Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) is a maritime and aerospace exhibition that takes place once every two years in Langkawi\, Malaysia. The last event took place in 2019. \nThe event is one of the largest maritime and aerospace exhibitions in the Asia-Pacific\, and is focused mainly on the defence industry\, but also supports civilian industries. In 2013\, LIMA recorded an overall growth of 10%\, with 433 exhibitors from 31 countries\, 333 defence delegations from 38 countries\, 632 media personnel from 127 agencies\, 68 ships and 78 aircraft attending the show. The 5 day event also saw 38\,421 trade visitors from both defense and commercial sectors from all around the world\,[1] as well as 135\,691 public visitors. \nThe exhibitors involved in the event exhibit their products inside the purpose built Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC)\, adjacent to the terminal at Langkawi International Airport. The maritime exhibitions take place at Resort World Langkawi while the aerospace exhibitions take place at the Langkawi International Airport. DESCRIPTION:This is one of the most popular and significant sailing regattas in the whole of South East Asia. The first Royal Langkawi International Regatta took place in the year 2003 which was organized and hosted by the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club.\n \nSince then the regatta has gained popularity within the yachters community all over the world and has been established as a major sailing event in the region.
