SUMMARY:Program Satu Daerah Satu Industri (SDSI)
DESCRIPTION:SOSI policies created by the Malaysia government aim to assist local entrepreneurs in.their business. Tracing back prior the establishment of SDSI policies in Malaysia\, thisactivity can be found in voluntary activities by residents\, rather than activities led bycentral or local governments. It started in 1961 in Japan when their people in tiny villagestarted to produce agriculture products which were strongly recommended to produce atthat time. The movement subsequently evolved into second stage which set its target onhuman resource development\, and then into third stage which placed emphasis on114 \nimprovement of the living quality. Japan introduces “One Village\, One Product “(OVOP)with the objective is to provide an important model of success\, encouraging localresidents to unearth economic resources within the regions with their aims to developlocal industry with the global outlook. Given the fact that the OVOP schemes have beenadopted as a major policy by China\, Philippines\, Malaysia\, Cambodia\, Mongolia andThailand. Theses scheme also has been implemented in various African countries in theirown context as part of economic assistance from Japan. \nSource by umk \nLocation : Kuala Lumpur

SUMMARY:Bon Odori Festival 2020
DESCRIPTION:Obon (お盆) or just Bon (盆) is a Japanese Buddhist custom to honor the spirits of one’s ancestors. This Buddhist–Confucian custom has evolved into a family reunion holiday during which people return to ancestral family places and visit and clean their ancestors’ graves when the spirits of ancestors are supposed to revisit the household altars. It has been celebrated in Japan for more than 500 years and traditionally includes a dance\, known as Bon Odori. \nThe festival of Obon lasts for three days; however\, its starting date varies within different regions of Japan. When the lunar calendar was changed to the Gregorian calendar at the beginning of the Meiji era\, the localities in Japan responded differently\, which resulted in three different times of Obon. Shichigatsu Bon (Bon in July) is based on the solar calendar and is celebrated around the 15th of July in eastern Japan (Kantō region such as Tokyo\, Yokohama and the Tōhoku region)\, coinciding with Chūgen. Hachigatsu Bon (Bon in August)\, based on the lunar calendar\, is celebrated around the 15th of August and is the most commonly celebrated time. Kyū Bon (Old Bon) is celebrated on the 15th day of the ninth month of the lunar calendar\, and so differs each year\, which appears between August 8 and September 7. One exception was in 2008 and 2019\, when the solar and lunar calendar matched so Hachigatsu Bon and Kyū Bon were celebrated on the same day. Kyū Bon is celebrated in areas such as the northern part of the Kantō region\, Chūgoku region\, Shikoku\, and Okinawa Prefecture. These three festival days are not listed as public holidays\, but it is customary for people to be given leave.[1]  \nMore Information come to this website ~ https://www.jckl.org.my \nSource by Wikipedia \nLocation : Persiaran Perkilangan\, Seksyen 21\, 40300 Shah Alam\, Selangor\, Malaysia

SUMMARY:FIESTA SAN PEDRO
DESCRIPTION:From 23 to 29 June\, holidaying tourists flock to Portuguese Settlement in Malacca to commemorate the annual feast of the fishermen; Fiesta San Pedro. \nThe Portuguese Settlement lies along the coastline of Malacca overlooking the Straits of Malacca. The village is situated approximately 2 kilometers south of Malacca town and is home to over 1\,000 residents who are the descendants of the former Portuguese rulers in Malacca. \nThe Fiesta San Pedro commemorates the Feast Day of St Peter\, the patron saint of the fishermen; the trade the Portuguese were traditionally steeped in. The official day for the Fiesta San Pedro is June 29\, however the festivities run for a week before-hand\, which has been running for the last 67 years\, highlighting the traditional significance of the fishing trade to this seaside community. \nThe celebrations will culminate on June 29\, the actual feast day of Saint Peter. Evening falls\, and High Mass is celebrated in the Settlement church in honour of the saint. Following the Mass\, the statue of the saint is carried in a procession around the Settlement\, when the priest blesses the fishing boats. \nA diversity of colours\, sounds and activities mark the week-long fiesta. Bazaars\, blaring music\, flashing lights\, amusements rides are among part of the festivities. When the night falls\, live bands perform on the main stage. Cultural performances showcase the community’s blended European and Asian heritage\, with dances that are a fusion of European costumes\, instruments and Asian costumes and instruments\, such as the branyo dance. \nThe boats which are especially decorated for the occasion\, are adorned with sketches and paintings of the New Testament scenes\, Biblical figurines\, nets full of catch from the sea and even little girls dressed in white depicting angels. The blessing of the boats indicate the fisherman’s hope for a bountiful catch for the year ahead. \nSource by Tourist Malaysia \nLocation : Portuguese Settlement\, Melaka
