YES ! you heard that right. All Malaysians who travel locally will get tax relief and a digital voucher with a combined amount worth  RM 1100 !!

According to Interim Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamed, the travel voucher worth RM100 can be used on domestic flights, train ticket, and accommodation in any licensed hotel in Malaysia. Plus! Malaysians will enjoy a personal tax relief of up to RM1,000 for any spending that is related to domestic tourism.

Also stated by the Interim Prime Minister this is one of the ways to stimulate the demand for the tourism industry and also encourage Malaysia to travel locally. “In the spirit of shared responsibility to overcome current challenges, the government calls on industry players to play their part – for hotels to offer discounts and shopping malls to reduce rentals to their tenants,” he said.

Subsidy for the Malaysian Drivers and Tourist Guides

The Government acknowledges lower tourist arrivals has negatively impacted those reliant on tourism. The Government will give a one-off payment of RM600 each to taxi drivers, tourist bus drivers, tourist guides and registered trishaw drivers.
