10. Sipadan Island

As an ancient volcano rising 600m from the ocean floor, Sipadan is Malaysia’s only oceanic island. This means that the island is bordered by deep seas and wall reefs, which are home to some of the world’s largest Ocean Pelagics, including white, black, and grey tipped Sharks, Trevallies, Chevron, and Yellowfin Barracudas.

9. Maliau Basin Conservation Area

The mysterious Maliau Basin, located on the enormous island of Borneo, is one of Malaysia’s greatest surviving natural regions. The practically circular Basin, bounded by a steep cliff reaching over 1,675m asl, includes approximately 390 km2 of virgin forest, a virtually self-contained environment. The area is perfect for adventurous jungle trekking, bird watching, nature photography, and more activities.

8. Danum Valley Conservation Area

The Danum Valley Conservation Area (DVCA) was an unofficial protected area in the Ulu Segama Forest Reserve containing primary, unspoiled lowland rainforest with a diverse array of Borneo flora and animals. It was part of Yayasan Sabah’s almost one million hectare forest concession. There are a lot of things to do, which include watching wild animals, housing, sports facilities and more.

7. Boheydulang Island

The Tun Sakaran Marine Park archipelago’s second-largest island is Bohey Dulang. The island is teeming with birds, which makes it a popular destination for hikers and birdwatchers, with spectacular views from its 353m top from the sea level.

6. Lok Kawi Wildlife Park

The Lok Kawi Wildlife Park is about 25 km from Kota Kinabalu, on the ancient Penampang-Papar route. The park’s major goal is to establish a family-friendly environment with a focus on making it more of a children’s zoo. Borneo Pygmy elephants, Sumatran rhinoceros, Orang Utan, Proboscis monkey, Malayan Tiger, and a few kinds of deers are among the zoo’s numerous occupants.

4. Ladang Tenusu Desa Cattle

Desa Cattle Dairy Farm, located in the foothills of Mount Kinabalu, has some of the most breathtaking views one could ever imagine. The view is stunning, not forget to mention that it’s complemented with the fresh air that Kundasang has to offer. With the majestic Mount Kinabalu overlooking lovely green fields, the location is often selected as a wedding photography destination.

3. Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre

SOURC (Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre) was founded in 1964 to help orphaned orangutans. It has now expanded from merely an outside platform to include a viewing area for the outdoor nursery. It is also close to the Kabili Rainforest, making the region ideal for hiking and birdwatching. There are around 60 to 80 orangutans living freely in the stated reserve.

2. Masjid Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu

Kota Kinabalu City Mosque (Malay: Masjid Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu) is the second biggest mosque in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia, but it is also the most aesthetically stunning building in the city. The structure, which is surrounded by a lagoon, appears to float when viewed from afar and produces a beautiful reflection on the water below.

1. Mount Kinabalu

Mount Kinabalu is Borneo’s and Malaysia’s tallest peak. With a height of 13,435 feet, it is the world’s third tallest island peak and the 20th most prominent mountain by topographic prominence. The peak is found in the Ranau region of Sabah’s West Coast Division.
