Perlis – Must Visit Places

Perlis, also known by its popular honorific title Perlis Indera Kayangan, is Malaysia’s smallest state, located in the northern section of Peninsular Malaysia’s west coast, with Thailand’s Satun and Songkhla Provinces on its northern border. To the south, it is surrounded by the state of Kedah.

2. Kelam Cave

Gua Kelam one of Malaysia’s most unusual caves, is a 370-meter-long limestone cave located in the tiny village of Kaki Bukit, or foothill. An eight-foot-wide suspension bridge connects the cave to the outside world. This bridge connects Kaki Bukit to the Wan Tangga Valley, which is located on the other side of Gua Kelam. The Istana Arau is in Bandar Diraja Arau, Perlis, about 10 km from Bandar Kangar. This structure serves as the Rulers of Perlis’ formal dwelling or residence (residence). 4. Tasik Melati Recreational Park

Within the development area, Tasik Melati is a natural lake. The park’s lakes and recreational amenities are well-known. The fragrant Jasmine blossom gives Melati Lake its name. It’s likely that it adapted Melati from the nearby Taman Melati housing development. Tasik Melati is a marsh featuring a wild plant called locally as “kercit” in its natural state. 5. Kota Kayang Museum

Kota Kayang Museum is a centre for information distribution that shows and maintains Perlis’ historical legacy. 6. Bukit Keteri

Bukit Keteri is a well-known karst limestone structure in the state of Perlis in Peninsular Malaysia’s northern area. The Mammut Expedition to Malaysia in 2007 discovered the climbing routes in Bukit Keteri. 7. Perlis State Park

Perlis State Park is located on Perlis’ western border, where that meets the Thai border. It is situated atop Malaysia’s longest continuous limestone hills, the Nakawan Range, which stretches for 36 km. The park is divided into two forest reserve areas, Mata Ayer Forest Reserve and Wang Mu Forest Reserve, which cover a total of 5,000 hectares. 8. Timah Tasoh Dam

Because of its mountainous backdrop and large lake environment, Timah Tasoh Lake is known as Malaysia’s Guilin. Its spectacular vista is comparable to that of the China metropolis. The lake is a man-made reservoir that was constructed in 1992. Its name comes from the two rivers that run through it: Sungai Timah and Sungai Tasoh. The lake serves a multitude of purposes for the state of Perlis, and it is more than just a gorgeous place. The Snake and Reptile Farm in Sungai Batu Pahat, Perlis, is one of the few tourist attractions in Malaysia’s far north. On Route R11, it’s 12 kilometres north of Kangar. The farm is home to around 300 snakes representing 30 distinct species. The Institute of Medical Research manages the farm. There are around 30 snake species, as well as crocodiles, lizards, horses, turtles, otters, and other animals. There may even be snake displays if you’re lucky.
